DitD 20 ghost hunters

“We need to search for Tom. We can’t just assume that he just left his phone and went to get a drink.” I said starting to head back towards the church.

“Hey boss,” Steve yelled from the RV. “Isn’t it time for your monster?”

I didn’t even think about what time it had become. Was it really passed ten pm? It couldn’t be that late. I looked down at my watch.

22:18

I grabbed a monster from Steve. This was going to be a long night and I was nowhere near alert enough for this shit. I walked into the church with Pat and we headed towards the bathroom. Something seemed off. I couldn’t put my finger on what was wrong. “There wasn’t a struggle and Tom was here.” Pat said.

“What are you talking about?” I asked.

“Tom was here. I feel his presence. As if he was quietly drugged and moved. His limp body dragged out of the bathroom.” Pat said.

“You’re freaking me out. Is your abilities stronger here or something?” I really was on edge. He never said things like this unprovoked. The only exception being when Captain Miller. Pat seemed to predict when Miller was going to be kidnapped and was able to pin point Miller without any equipment. But usually he just made snide comments while telling me that a place isn’t haunted.

“This place has a strong extra supernatural nature that I have never seen before. Worse is the past few hours. As if we have awakened a darkness that should never be peered into. Not all of us will leave here alive.” Pat said weirdly calm. Now I was starting to really lose my calm. Pat was calm and not dripping sarcasm from every word. This is not good at all. “I’m not sure where they took him or who took him but I know that he was here and a strong event occurred here.”

“Ok. Let’s go back to the nave while I consider what our next move is.” I said. I don’t know if I should send Steve to go check the local gas stations or if he was better checking the camera feeds.

“Nobody left the church except us a few minutes ago.” Steve said over the radio. “He has to still be in the building.” Crap. Another dead end. I was starting to wish I wasn’t confined to the nave. I heard something from the balcony of the nave.

“The balcony of the nave is still in the nave. Right?” I asked Pat.

“I heard it too. Let’s go.” Pat said looking at the balcony. We a

Started towards the stairs. I kept my eyes open for any of the nuns. The stairs creaked under each step. But at the top of the stairs there was nothing and no one. I sighed from relief. I sat down on the top step. I cracked open my monster. The sound of the monster shushing me and sizzling did not bring me comfort.
